Really need your feedback
Hi again folks.  Need your feedback.  I would like to know what if any things that you think should be the highest priorities for the next 2 years for Highland Village.  One of the things that I think we should look at is some kind of tax relief for our seniors.  Since the tax cap by state law cannot be revoked during the life of the homeowner, that does not look like an appropriate strategy if there is a downturn in the economy.  No matter what our economy does, we still need strong police and fire as well as a qualified staff for financial and infrastructure needs.  Considering the aging population of Highland Village we could put our community in jeopardy if we exercised the tax cap for seniors.  However, that only applies to property taxes.  My thought is that we might look at a rate structure with respect to our utilities that might offer a break.  Maybe even a rate that does not kick in for water an sewer until so much is used.  This would still allow us to collect fees for high water usage but for low water usage for the seniors they would pay little or no fee.  Let me know what you think either clicking on the email  link on the right or send separately to my email address fred@buscheformayor.com.  Remember to vote May 10.

Thanks for coming to the website

Thanks for coming back to the site.  Thought I would update you a bit.  The press release discussing my candidacy has been sent out and we are in the process of visiting with Bob Weir of the News Connection as well as others.

Need to ask a couple of questions of you all.  Would you like to see some additional links? Thought I might add one for an appropriate EPA site, plus the Highland Village site, and was thinking that maybe AARP might be good.  Let me know what you think.  Thanks for coming and don't forget to vote.

I am running for Mayor because I think that there are things that I can do to help The City of Highland Village to move down the road toward a bright future.  We need to spend our tax dollars wisely, preserve the beauty of our community, protect our citizens with strong fire and police, and have a mitigation strategy in place for hardships that may impact our citizens and long time businesses.  We must also help to preserve our environment.  I will work with the rest of Council to use energy saving practices with respect to City Facilities.  In addition I will work diligently with council to strive to be an example for North Texas in the use of passive energy sources that might include solar and wind.  As Mayor I will do everything in my power  to convince my colleagues that tax relief for our citizens on fixed incomes must be a priority. I  will need your help in making this possible so please contact me with your concerns and suggestions.
